Mediator

A mediator is a person trained to helping parties in conflict to resolve their disputes amicably, using the most appropriate mediation techniques to encourage communication and mutual understanding. The mediator acts as an impartial third party and does not make decisions for the parties, but rather helps to develop an acceptable solution for all concerned.

A mediator can be called upon to: Resolve family disputes (divorce, child custody, etc.), resolve commercial disputes, help employers and employees resolve employment disputes, resolve real estate disputes, facilitate communication and mutual understanding between conflicting parties.
