Getting back into shape
A process or objective related toimproved physical condition and overall health. This may be necessary after a sports injury, muscle or joint pain or just a desire to gain flexibility. This can include many elements such as regular exercise, stretching, a balanced diet, adequate rest and healthy lifestyle habits. Decreased muscle strength, reduced muscle mass or difficulty performing physical tasks may be signs that fitness training is needed. Regular exercise, especially resistance training, can help strengthen muscles and improve strength. Labored breathing or excessive breathlessness during physical activity may indicate an insufficient level of cardiorespiratory conditioning. Fitness can help improve lung and cardiovascular capacity. Fitness is an individual process that depends on each person's goals, state of health and abilities. Some people will need to see a physiotherapist, others an osteopath or take pilates classes.
